Illustrating a couple of my projects around here

Regular need of weeding

Pictures, everyone! These two pictures illustrate a little of what and where I am spending my time. The pond hadn’t been touched for a couple years, but I had memories of how much I liked it, so I am completely emptying it ( this picture is of the initial phase. There are a couple cement blocks that I will have to have my husband pull out for me. I once did that type of thing myself, but have lost that strength.

Today I removed more of the water, mudslide material, and random rocks. The waterlilies and half of the iris are in tubs.

I keep at the walkway, and the lavenders are blooming nicely in response to the pruning they have been getting. Last years division of the Euphorbia made it through nicely. It is ‘bonfire’ and I love it more every year. Beautiful colors, compact and hardy. All season show, too.

One of my projects

I have lots of pictures now that I took some time to take and upload the photos. I made a new page on Fairy Gardens, and used some pictures I had taken of cute examples I came across. I am contemplating putting one of my own in, as soon as I catch up with the major work around here.

Until later, Friends. And I am going to get a few photos into those last two posts for those who like a bit of garden cheesecake (oh, I do too:)

Hi Ilona: Nice post. I know it’s difficult to get really involved in your garden in a blog post. so much to say and show but not enough room to do it.

    Have a great evening,
    John

Oh, hi there!

I was a garden blog pioneer, and began writing on this blog in 2003. Before that I had begun a garden website that has been at its own domain since 2006, Ilona's Garden.

I still love writing, gardening, and art after all these years, although travel and grandchildren have become a big part of my life, now.
