I would love to see a hummingbird like this- they aren’t found in Ohio, but aren’t the colors (and the photographer’s art) a joy to see? I saw this on ‘Gardening With Binoculars‘ which is filled with so much interesting information on both fauna and flora. Give Ann McCormacks site some time- it will fascinate you.

What a beautiful example of a hummingbird. Here in Utah we only get the black-chinned hummer and are blessed with being able to watch its typical hummingbird antics.

That would be too cool to see this type of hummingbird! You can’t beat them at all.
I sympathize with you on the drought. It is at a very critical level here too. A slight possibility of rain this week though I don’t see it. I’ve lost so many plants it has caused me to rethink quite a few areas. I hope you get some rain soon and like you I’m loving those asters!
