Something In Summer

Part Two: Nature

A something in a summer’s day,
As slow her flambeaux burn away,
Which solemnizes me.

A something in a summer’s noon,—
An azure depth, a wordless tune,
Transcending ecstasy.

~ Emily Dickinson

Oh, I haven’t seen that poem in years, and it certainly fits my personality to a tee! I always tell dear hubby that in the summer I don’t care if the housework gets done, as long as I have time to spend outside. I hope you don’t mind, but I added it to the sidebar of my blog. Thanks so much for sharing!

Mind? of course not… Dickinson is for the world. Glad you could find something inspiring here :)

J- I think you sent the lit flambeau upon Olympic runners feet North… it sure has been hot here today. Can’t complain that we are getting July weather finally tho. The cool temps were welcome as long as they lasted, but maybe now my tomatoes will ripen.

Oh, hi there!

I was a garden blog pioneer, and began writing on this blog in 2003. Before that I had begun a garden website that has been at its own domain since 2006, Ilona's Garden.

I still love writing, gardening, and art after all these years, although travel and grandchildren have become a big part of my life, now.
