It’s winter for sure here in the Heartland. Horribly cold the other day and a glaze of ice tonight. Hopefully everyone is tucked away in their homes around a warm hearth :)
My indoor bulb pans are doing well, and the poinsettias are still alive ;) So far so good with my Rosemary tree. This year I am keeping its moisture levels higher – as I learned researching for the Christmas Plants page. I think I will go ahead and repot it into a bigger pot in the coming week. I hope it lives til I can plant it in my garden.

I started writing this before Christmas and was interrupted until today… and (being Ohio) now we are in a whole ‘nother weather pattern. We’ve decided it should be a warm Southern winter with rain and mild temperatures. Someone decided, anyway. I even dreamt my bulbs were blooming, but that was because I checked on my forced bulbs and was taking pictures of them, I think. The first set of paperwhites have one flower just breaking. The second set have sprouts only an inch high or so, and the big bulb pan is still taking it’s time. It has an amaryllis, a hyacinth, and three paperwhites. I love the look of the bulbs breaking through the green decorative moss on that one. Usually, I just plant in a bed of rocks with water. I think I stopped this post to snap some pics, so I’ll check to see if I have something to illustrate for you. The old saying of it being worth a thousand words!

Hi there! I missed this post as it showed up much lower in my blog list. Did you remember to change the date? I always forget, just asking. Your indoor bulbs look good. I was very excited my husband found some neat bulb vases for me for Christmas. I am trying them, but do so admire your bulb flat. Those paperwhites you posted were ever so beautiful. Do stay warm up there! It is windy like CRAZY here but 71 degrees outside! Have a great day Illona.
I am not at all professional about dates, etc. I started the post before Christmas, so I don’t think I changed it to the finish date.
How great that you have some pretty bulb vases- some of the bulbs for forcing are still on sale- that was how I got my bulb flat @ Target. It is Smith& Hawken which I always admire for style. (not that I am any marvel when it comes to interior decor).
