Well, as I said to my friends at Curves, when they remarked on the heat:” Now, we get our summer”. Not that I am complaining about the gorgeous weather we had for most of this past summer- not at all!

Today will require watering… I’d better find that extra length of hose.
September sometimes is a waiting period… waiting for October’s clear skies and cooler weather, apples in season and cider. Summer is now over, school starts, regular schedules and demands take precedence… no more wondering how well my garden will do, now it is recording and cleaning up that occupies my mind.
September is a little sad for that reason, a bit “cast down” but not destroyed… hope awaits as I gather seeds for next year. I harvested some Shirley poppy seed from my favorite colors and included a plant with semi-doubled blooms. I let the lupines go to seed and hope to gather those soon, the butterfly weed seeds I will plant in situ hoping they make new plants next year. I have a pattern for seed packets …let’s see if I can dig that up and print some to make pretty holders for the picked and cleaned seed.
