Firefox didn’t have the Alexa add-on last time I looked… but I looked again and now there is one, “Sparky” for Firefox browsers. That is good news for someone like me that usually uses Firefox…why? Well, if you blog and you have any sort of ad monetization then your alexa rank matters. At least that is what I understand, because I’m just mainly a person who likes to blog and no expert in these matters. But I do know that garden blogging is very low in the charts because their surfers often don’t have this toolbar (it’s the tech sites who have more viewers with these toolbars). Those who surf the web with this are tallied as visitors to the site. ( Someone more knowledgeable is invited to correct me on this).
If I got this right then every time I surf to your site this traffic to your blog is counted. Then, maybe, your blog is more attractive to advertisers. Maybe not, I don’t know… but besides all that I think it is time garden bloggers get their due. We tend to work hard at creating a site that is content rich, full of information, and there are some (I’m not among the ranks) who have such beautiful photos that they rival the best garden magazines.
For those who are more savvy on this I would love your comments…
I have a link to download a personalized Alexa toolbar add-on right here. Feel free to use it.
