Good natured Kathy of Cold Climate Gardening once again gives internet gardening a valuable service. Even though she has been one of the first “garden blog collectors” in compiling a helpful blog directory, she highlights some growing competition… all in the name of better access to the multiplying number of garden blogs.
In “Meet My Competition” she gives useful critique and the links to tow new garden blog directories, Stuart’s blog directory gets a two [green] thumbs up from Kathy and from those garden bloggers who have commented on it. I went to see for myself. It is a professionally done and good looking directory, so I think Kathy’s prediction that this is going to be an important internet addition for gardeners is right on target. Of course, I joined!
The other directory, DiginDirt did not get such high marks, while it seems it is more complete at this time, with many blogs to surf through. Not many have ratings or reviews, yet this could be helpful in the future as more participate in the process. I tried to review one of my favorite blogs, ::eclectic garden::, but couldn’t access the comments- I don’t know if this was a site problem or my own connection problem. If it is a site problem they should get it fixed asap, although possibly it meant that only the directory reviews. I found that somewhat confusing. I think positive, but truthful, reviews are very helpful in wading through the many blogs available.
Anyway, thanks to Kathy for her own valuable blog that posts so many helpful tips and great articles!
