Do you like cottage gardens? I love them, and Pam’s English Cottage Garden located in the Poconos is just the blog that will delight us with her animals, and cottage flowers.
A side note: So many garden blogs are begun in earnest and then left. It is like a metaphor of many a garden plot. Not everyone is suited for the intense commitment of an occupation or obsession.
For many, the act of writingย (or gardening for that matter) is more of a hobby and a brief pastime. There is nothing wrong with that… but what I find is that there are many who show such promise and talent that I wish they had the time and desire to pursue it further.
Everyone needs a break… but if you take one, consider going back to pick up the trowel, or pen and camera occasionally – just to keep your hand in it.
The world is much richer for that.

Couldn’t agree more. This reminds of the famous quote that “Many are called but only few are chosen.”
John- I posted a list of blogs to read that I thought were worthwhile and the point was to find out if anyone finds that sort of thing interesting. I sure didn’t mean for it to be the last word on the only good blogs out there!
So, is it something anyone finds interesting or not? eh, people?
It would take me awhile to think about your question- blogging has changed so much that I’m not even sure how I would measure a great blog. I used to write about that when first blogging years ago.
No one takes the time to do alot of reading of various blogs anymore. They go after something in particular. At least if we are talking about web surfers in general.
