Kathy Purdy of Cold Climate Gardening now has three parts of her series “Garden Blog Pioneers” up and running. This was a marvelous way to peek inside the workings of those beginning days of garden blogging. Kathy, having been one of those pioneers knew the interesting questions to ask, and she puts everything together with verve and panache.
Aren’t we sort of a strange bunch to love both gardening and the tech world of blogging ? Well, maybe not, if you think of how passionate gardeners are always looking for more information on how to better their gardening experience and on inspirations to their creativity. The internet is one great way to feed that hunger. I love beautiful color plates of inspiration in gardening books, but when I need ‘right now’ info on plant needs or how to deal with garden problems, I go to the computer. Or as one commenting garden blogger has said in the comments:
The blogging community gardens are as close as my keyboard so much easier to click on the comment section and ask a question than it is to drive by and get up the nerve to go and knock on the door. Or wait until you see the gardener in their garden to ask a question. –cyndi
Thanks, Kathy, for such an inspiring series of posts.
