Yippeeee! I finally got it! My husband bought my long awaited leaf vacuum chipper machine! YAY! I don’t know how we will pay for it and today I do not care. I am so excited to use it and make much mulch for my garden.
He looked it up online, it was the Sears Craftsman. I wanted the TroyBilt, but I am completely happy with his choice. It was on sale and now in my garage. I feel like dancing…. raking a couple acres is back breaking work, not to mention that my kids break my rakes every year. Every year. I don’t even make them do the whole job.
I don’t understand it though. When I was a kid it was my job to shovel snow and rake leaves…. and I liked it. Of course my back was more flexible and young, which it ain’t anymore! I liked hedging the privet hedges along with the Taxus bush foundation plants, making them all neat and manicured. That was a very typical American front yard when I was growing up.
And I used to love jumping in the leaves!
My children will rake enough to get a leaf pile. But with our winds we can’t leave it like that. My neighbor gets crabby about such things.
Although I think this area has an overabundance of neat yard freaks. They mow all the time. And there are not near enough trees and shrubs. Like shaving the land is a virtue.
I like a more rustic, stubbled look myself.
That is all for today……. I will report on how well we like our new leaf machine, after we use it once or twice.
