…since I’ve been away.
Stuart Robinson has an intriguing post on his site, Gardening for Dummies (which is a great name, btw), titledMy frustration with gardening blogs. In it he asks why we as gardeners don’t have more passion with community and discussion?
I had a few that I discussed and traded links with, Cold Climate‘s Kathy Purdy and Scenic Nursery, but lost touch as I let this journal languish. But garden blogs were never much for the types of discussion I sometimes had on my other blog; and besides, the differences in temperments between people that love gardens will sometimes lose you blog friends. I had people de-link me after they bravely ventured over to TrueGrit [warning:visit at your own risk]. They liked the mellow, earth loving, environmentalist me, which is the real me, but hated the religious and political me (which is also the real me, but you don’t have to have it in your face in this blog).
However, I really like Stuart’s ideas, and he manages to have some hearty discussion there on his blog. I also was supremely envious of how fine a job he has done in setting up his blog and its design. Kudos.
Take a look, why don’t you?
