Today has been what I consider a perfect day: blue skies, puffy clouds, gentle breezes, happy plants. Warm, quiet, with the scent of roses and mock orange wafting through the air… with no discernible demands. I did a little weeding this morning and that was it.
Unlike yesterday, where I worked myself into painful oblivion all day in sweltering heat. Dragged myself, like Igor, along with unending lengths of hose, whilst weeding, gathering up weeds, and planting flowers (yes, I bought still more). Amazing what a little cold front can do 😉 Such a difference, now. We have had just the right amount of rain, cooler temperatures, and I had watered all my containers and new plants, anyway. All is right with the garden. Today. There is nothing worse than dryness, heat, and wind on a springtime garden.
I’ve read with sympathy Kathy’s Cold Climate Twittering… she is looking for rain. Carol has had too much. We still have some flooding in the fields, but nothing severe, but the hot weather dried things out real quick, surprisingly so. I hope Kathy gets her rain.
