Remember yesterday’s video from The Brooklyn Kitchen? I just love all their videos, and this one is about “heirloom apples”.
I planted a couple heirloom apple varieties many years ago. One, the Cox’s orange pippin, is the old variety that has been improved and marketed as “Gala” apples. Yeah!
Anyway, if you are interested in growing a little orchard of heirloom apples, now is the time to get your trees in the ground. Almost a bit late. ..since you could have started in March in a normal year without all the snow or rain… so actually, this year you are on time.
Read about apples in these posts, Apple Celebration, Apple Varieties for a little more info on which apples to plant for your purposes.
