If you take a look at what we are doing in our usual fall season joblist, you will see why I run out of garden work steam. Handyman posted on generators, and I put up a few illustrative pictures of the remodeling and maintenance projects knocked out this past couple weeks.
During that time I did have to prune away some more of the pyracantha from the living room window area (so we could wash those windows!). The baby birds are gone now, so I was able to cut back quite a bit of the overgrown shoots.
A couple of new starts of some campanulas and some removal of sod for extension of a planting bed is the extent of the actual gardening; the rest of my outside work consisted of putting away things for winter and trying to straighten up.
Get lawn chairs put away- collect numerous buckets that were left here and there, clean off the porch which always seems to collect stuff that is supposed to go elsewhere.
The odd pruning of a bush or two (those viburnums got away from me!). Trying to get a few plants ready for indoors . Those kinds of things.
I keep hoping to be a serious gardener again- maybe next year. In my defense, though, it was really important to try to get a handle on organizing my life and take better care of my housework duties, etc.
I feel I have made progress on just about everything except losing that twenty pounds I wanted to shed…. but that is another matter and story of its own.
