Garden Update August 22

It seems a bit soggy here, but we don't have the heavy rains that they have suffered in other parts of Ohio. Usually, because of the high water table, if we get lots of rain there is ponding, but we are not experiencing that. The weatherman says that … [Read more...] about Garden Update August 22

July ’07 State of the Garden

Lavender WalkI have been gardening, not blogging, and this was one of my resolutions for 2007. So far so good. It has been hot here, but we received some rain earlier this month; a huge downpour on the Fourth, which as a lady at Curve's said "We will … [Read more...] about July ’07 State of the Garden

The Cold Zone

The Winter That Wasn’t

First year that we didn't dive into near or below zero temperatures in the first week of the year. Usually I can count on it- I have a recollection for such things ever since a Junior High allergic reation exacerbated by the low temps made me into a … [Read more...] about The Winter That Wasn’t

Oh, hi there!

I was a garden blog pioneer, and began writing on this blog in 2003. Before that I had begun a garden website that has been at its own domain since 2006, Ilona's Garden.

I still love writing, gardening, and art after all these years, although travel and grandchildren have become a big part of my life, now.
