I was a garden blog pioneer, and began writing on this blog in 2003. Before that I had begun a garden website that has been at its own domain since 2006, Ilona's Garden.
I still love writing, gardening, and art after all these years, although travel and grandchildren have become a big part of my life, now.
when i was at OSU, i took several
agriculture classes-horticulture,
too. there was a new ‘jonathan’ hybrid called ‘melrose’ that had that tart snappy flavor that i like best. dont see it sold anywhere, nowadays…
down here, i go to n. ga. mountains in october to get heirloom’yates’apple…small,
crisp,great flavor, and it’s
excellent keeper. i have held
a box in my frigid hallway
all winter…cold-storage
in an old house!
p/s north georgia is the
tailend of the apalachain chain…
pretty dramatic fall color,
mid october up there, too.
also a plethora of RV’s
from florida, taking in the
scenery and holding up traffic!
Ilona: Whats up with your posts? I see you on face-book are you losing interest in Ilona’s garden Journal? Got writers bock, that’s understandable.
I am getting back to normal, can’t you tell.
Love you all that’s you and Johanna,
Havbw=e a wonderful evening. john
LOL! John- I never have writers block, but got a bit too much overlaod from too many irons in the fire. FB caught my interest…just like the old forums used too. I am trying to learn how it works in the mix of everything and that is why you see me on it quite a bit.
Blogging is a perennial for me, but it entered a dry season, rather like the garden. I have made a master list of posts I want to be writing this year… just have to *do it*.
I appreciate faithful and kind readers and fellow bloggers like you, though – thanks for the comment 🙂
